Axel Blumenstein – Supervisor IT Services

Axel Blumenstein is responsible for our IT infrastructure. Together with his team, he makes sure that our employees are able to work at all times. No easy undertaking – especially when you consider the last few years. First the COVID 19 pandemic and, at the same time, the ever-increasing risk of cyber crises: “Cybersecurity has taken on an important role in our work. It is now no longer like it used to be, where you pulled up the bridge when you were attacked. Today, it would be comparable to pulling the plug on the Internet.” The fact that IT in particular has to deal with such special situations, new developments and the peculiarities that arise from IKA's internationality does not bother the graduate business economist. He says this is what makes his job so special.

Stéphanie Teyssandier – Account Manager France Laboratory and Analytical Technology

Stéphanie Teyssandier has been with IKA for a year now and is responsible for sales in the south of France. This French-born native didn't end up at IKA by chance: Stéphanie is fluent in German and wanted to use her love of the language for a German company that also taught her a different culture of work. Already during her job interview, Stéphanie knew that she would find this at IKA. The team spirit convinced her immediately. To start at IKA, she completed a three-month training course at the headquarters in Staufen. There, she primarily learned about the products and how they work. With the knowledge and experience gained during all of her training, Stéphanie visits potential and existing customers for IKA and presents the products and their possible applications to them. After joining the company, Stéphanie learned to appreciate another one of IKA’s strengths – the innovativeness that is evident not only in our products, but also in the way we work. For several years, IKA has been using virtual reality to better serve customers across a wide reach. This also offers Stéphanie an exciting addition to face-to-face customer contact.

Ibrahim Akbas – Account Manager Türkiye / Managing Director Türkiye

Ibrahim Akbas manages the subsidiary in Türkiye which was founded in April 2021. A new establishment is always associated with initial challenges: from finding a suitable location to recruiting staff. But, thanks to the great support he has received from IKA, solutions have been found for these problems What is most important to Ibrahim in his job is to analyze technical challenges, understand product users, and make decisions based on this understanding. In IKA, he has found an employer who exploits all the technological possibilities for this and, for example, uses virtual reality in the sales area. IKA can thus benefit from a future-oriented perspective and stand out decisively from other companies in this way. The two terms that he immediately associates with IKA are innovation and structuredness. He sees innovation not only in the products, but also in the fact that IKA does a lot within the framework of further training and meetings to ensure that the employees can continue to grow with this innovation.

Cameron Rambone – Global Product Specialist, Laboratory and Analytical Technology (USA)

Cameron's career at IKA began eight years ago as a Calorimeter and Laboratory Reactor Specialist at our US site in Wilmington. An extremely exciting and unique field, but one that also requires a lot of know-how. Therefore, his first business trip went directly to Germany where he spent 30 days working with product experts to expand his product knowledge. After four years in this position, he took the next step in his career as a Product Specialist and was soon promoted to Global Product Specialist. What excites him about his new role is the interaction with science and the opportunity to work with a wide range of industries and companies, gaining new insights every day.Julian Lampp – Manager Assembly, Process Technology

Kinga Klepacka – Account Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology

Kinga Klepacka has been with IKA for four years. She started as an Intern during her studies of microbiology in Warsaw. Already at that time, Kinga developed into a permanent and valued member of our IKA team which led to her working for the sales department. Today she is an Account Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology for customers in central and north-eastern Poland. According to Kinga, it is above all flexibility and curiosity in her job. The latter, however, is easy to achieve: IKA's innovative products make you want to get to grips with them and gain an understanding of their functionality. The exchange with colleagues all over the world is also helpful for this. At IKA, everyone shares their expertise and helps all employees to develop and overcome challenges together. Kinga very much appreciates this working environment of professionalism, helpfulness, and the opportunity for further development at IKA. She also finds it enriching to receive feedback from customers that their work and IKA's high-quality products are appreciated.

Martin Menner – Area Sales Manager Process Technology

Of all our Faces of IKA, Martin Menner probably has the most stories in store. He has been with IKA for 30 years, knows an incredible amount about the company and has many stories to tell about how IKA has changed over the past decades. When he started his career in the construction department, it was a rather manual work: no computer programs, only fax machines and drawing boards. Later, he moved to the sales team, where he feels more than comfortable today. As a trained mechanical engineer, he appreciates the product range at IKA and enjoys his daily work – so much that the day often flies by for him. Even when things get tricky, there is no challenge that cannot be solved as a team. Martin also has no shortage of personal anecdotes and stories about what he has already experienced at IKA – from dance performances to fishing in China.

Norman Maier – Area Sales Manager Process Technology

Norman Maier started his career at IKA as a mechanical engineering student, having already known our blue laboratory equipment from school. Today, Norman is responsible for the sales of our products in various territories such as Scandinavia, Belgium, Austria or Italy. Within the nine years he has been with us, he has thus evolved from the technical side into a new role of responsibility, where he is now the “Face of IKA” for many of our international customers. Thanks to his technical expertise, he can provide our customers with even more targeted advice and understand their concerns and wishes. What excites him about IKA is not only the trust placed in him, but also the team spirit and the chance to get to know other cultures in his job.

Claresta Lim – Global Product Specialist, Laboratory and Analytical Technology (Malaysia)

Claresta started out as a medicinal chemist and is now a product manager at our site in Malaysia. Her current role combines research and operations: "I like that I am still connected to the scientific community in many ways. But at the same time I am helping to grow the business and develop our products. What excites Claresta most? Her ideas have a direct impact on the design of products that are essential to everyday life. And not just in Malaysia - Claresta travels a lot and appreciates that IKA is a multinational company that allows her to interact with customers from many different countries.

Matthias Grumann – Account Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology

Matthias Grumann was looking for a new challenge two years ago and found a job in advertisement at IKA for a new and innovative Account Manager team. He thought to himself: I'll give it a try! One and a half months later, Matthias started this new job. Today, he is one of our employees who mainly works remotely and supports our customers primarily through teams or by phone. He really enjoys his work because he supports many different customers, with different applications in many different fields and industries. His work in two adjectives are versatile and solution oriented. Matthias finds empathy, listening and, a technical background particularly important for his job. He always must be up to date with the latest developments because IKA regularly launches and develops new products. As an employer, what distinguishes IKA for him is that tradition, innovation, and quality are skillfully combined.

Part 2 (Matthias Grumann – Account Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology)

Luca Paulke – Account Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology

Luca Paulke has only recently joined IKA. For the 26-year-old, who is our face in North Rhine-Westphalia as an Account Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology, it is his first job after university. He could not have imagined a better start to his career. From day one, he was impressed by the friendly corporate culture and the professionalism of his colleagues. He found the familiarization phase enriching, during which he had a meeting with an expert for a specific product every day and was able to establish direct contact with the employees in the laboratory. He particularly likes the mixture of theory and practice because despite his technical background, it makes the work easier when you experience the IKA products yourself and have them explained by experts. The most important thing in his job for him is to understand the needs of his customers. Finding the right solution for everyone is the focus of his work.

Part 2 (Luca Paulke – Account Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology)

Dr. Dennis Stibane – Corporate Product Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology

Dr Dennis Stibane is the emblematic of innovation at IKA as he is responsible for a completely new product group. The Corporate Product Manager has been working on the launch for more than one and a half years and is looking forward to it. We have tailored his position at IKA to fit him perfectly so that Dennis can contribute his expertise in the best possible way. He became aware of IKA because he had already worked with our “blue” products during his studies. The decision to apply was quite easy for him. In the meantime, he is not only enthusiastic about our products but also about our corporate culture. IKA offers him a familiar environment, with flat hierarchies and colorfully mixed, highly qualified teams. Dennis associates the following terms with IKA: blue, magnetic stirrer, and quality. We are pleased to announce that Dennis is also taking his next career step at IKA. As Global Business Development Manager Bioprocessing, he will drive global efforts to successfully sell our new bioreactors.

Part 2 (Dr. Dennis Stibane – Corporate Product Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology)

Dr. Andreas Peter – Product Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology

Dr Andreas Peter is Product Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology at IKA and is primarily involved with laboratory reactors – a special field in which both technical and chemical understanding are important. In order to serve customers in the best possible way, he first has to understand which chemical reactions the customer wants to carry out and what other requirements the customer has for a product. Then it is a matter of finding the right IKA product and pointing out advantages. Due to the diversity of customers, every day of Andreas' work is different and multi-faceted, but at the same time, it’s also characterized by challenges that even a specialist like him can still learn from day to day.

Part 2 (Dr. Andreas Peter – Product Manager Laboratory and Analytical Technology)

Julian Lampp - Manager Assembly Process Technology

“What I enjoy most is that no two days are the same,” says Julian Lampp, who has been a valued member of IKA for almost 16 years. A look at the past few years impressively shows what a career at IKA can be like: Julian started with us in 2007 as a trainee industrial mechanic and, after successfully completing his training, initially worked in equipment manufacturing. Shortly afterwards, he moved to the mechanical engineering service department, where he took on a more organisational role. Along the way, he completed his Master's degree at night school and set another milestone in his young career by training as a welding supervisor, which was supported by IKA. He has now taken on management responsibilities and enjoys passing on his knowledge and experience to new colleagues and seeing how they develop over time.

Part 2 (Julian Lampp - Manager Assembly Process Technology)

Julia-Sophie Ferenc – Talent Acquisition Partner

Julia-Sophie Ferenc already worked as an intern at our subsidiary in Warsaw, Poland, during her studies. An enriching time – professionally as well as personally as she finds and above all the cornerstone for wanting to continue her career at IKA. In mid-2022, we welcomed her back as a permanent member of our HR team in Staufen. Today, Julia-Sophie is an important link in attracting new talents to IKA and optimizing our application process. Anyone applying to IKA in the future can look forward to more than just easy-to-use systems and processes. Julia-Sophie also strives to make the unjustly feared job interviews a pleasant experience, and rather a chance to get to know each other.

Jaren Karaguen – Talent Acquisition Partner

Finding a passion is what we want all our apprentices and students to do. Our dual student Jaren says that she has found her passion in HR. She is particularly excited about the fact that she can already apply much of what she is learning in her International Business studies to her work in HR, and is thus actively helping to shape the future of our HR department. In addition to her studies, she is also shaping her own future by taking advantage of the many training opportunities available to her during her apprenticeship.  She really appreciates the fact that IKA not only has an international focus, but also enables young colleagues to gain international experience themselves, for example through internships abroad.  What she did not know before she started working at IKA is that her work not only shapes her own future and that of our company. By selecting new talent, she also makes a significant contribution to bringing innovations to market that enable sustainable and forward-looking inventions.

Markus Rombach – Manager Shipping

Transporting our products can present some challenges, especially when it comes to larger machines. Luckily, we have Markus and his team to take care of this. From collection from the supplier to delivery to the customer, Markus' team handles all shipments, large and small. As a leader, team spirit is paramount for him. His biggest challenge so far? Despite its size, loading a large machine required precision work. But even that was no problem, thanks to special equipment and team spirit.

Tasha – Intern commercial sector

Tasha joined IKA as an intern in 2021. The Australian-born was positively surprised by the fact that we at IKA molded her internship entirely according to her interests. During her time with us, Tasha gained insights into various departments such as Human Resources, Inside Sales and Technical Documentation. She was particularly fascinated by the wide range of applications for IKA's products. Scientists use them in almost every laboratory in the world, and leading companies in the chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food industries use them to stir, mix, and concentrate many of their products that make our daily lives more sustainable, easier, or more pleasant. For Tasha, who herself has a very international background, the internationality at IKA is adding a lot of value. During her internship, she experienced first-hand the international exchange of her colleagues not only with customers, but also with IKA locations in Thailand, the USA or Malaysia. The time and experience she gained with us laid the base for Tasha's further career steps. In the future, she would like to complete a dual study program in International Business.

Part 2 (Tasha – Intern commercial sector)

Maurice – Intern Industrial Engineering Laboratory and Analytical Technology

Maurice, who was born with a passion for craftsmanship, is studying mechanical engineering. Despite his young years, he knows that it is not always the direct path that lies ahead – it is the unexpected things that shape the future. That is why his advice to everyone is: “When one door closes, another one opens”. He speaks from experience: Since he was initially unable to start a dual study program at IKA, he applied for an internship in his practical semester – with success! Soon after, he received confirmation that he would be able to support the industrial engineering team at IKA after completing his bachelor’s thesis. One of the things that excites him is that the hierarchies at IKA are hardly noticeable and that the best idea always wins – no matter who contributes it. Because that is the only way you can really achieve something, says Maurice.

Fidan – Trainee, apprenticeship as industrial clerk

Fidan always wanted to pursue an education that combines theory and practice. Due to the lack of such education opportunities in her home country, the native Italian decided to move to Germany. Within just two years, she learned German and is still ambitiously improving her language skills – not only in German, but also her second mother tongue, Turkish. When she started her apprenticeship with us in September 2022, she went through various departments and was working in purchasing for our mechanical engineering at the time of the video shoot. What she finds particularly interesting about her work there is the use of SAP – who would have thought? At IKA, she appreciates the internationality, but also the pleasant atmosphere among her colleagues. We are happy that she immediately felt accepted as a full team member and that her colleagues support her in learning something new every day.

Part 2 (Fidan – Trainee, apprenticeship as industrial clerk)

Claudius – Strategic Buyer Laboratory and Analytical Technology

During his time at school, Claudius was not at all certain, where his professional development would lead him one day. However, it was obvious that it should be a combination of business and technology. With this idea in mind, he discovered the dual study program in industrial engineering and became aware of IKA through a school visit. During the three- to six-month practical phases, he was able to gain insights into the application center, operations, as well as disposition and controlling. His most exciting project during his studies with us: the development of a concept for the best possible procurement of the most important components for our production. What he already learned during his training with us is now an important basis for his work: We are delighted that Claudius is now an integral part of our strategic sourcing.

Christina – Employee pipette production

In September 2020, Christina moved from Greece to Germany to be closer to her family. After learning German in record time, she began her journey at IKA in April 2021. Christina took her first steps with us in pipette manufacturing. A department in which our employees, with their sensitivity and precise performance, ensure that modern laboratories can work fault-free and safely. Here Christina demonstrated her curiosity and ambition right from the start. Her diligence as well as her prior knowledge also make Christina a perfect candidate for a dual study program in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering. We are happy that we are able to offer her this further training from October 2022 and that we will thus also take her next career step together. What she appreciates most about IKA is the togetherness, the mutual support and the trust that was placed in her from the very beginning. But Christina and her colleagues also have a lot of fun. For example, they came up with a suitable name for their robot, that helps them check the pipettes. Since he is so often alone at home overnight and on weekends, his name is of course – Kevin.

Part 2 (Christina – Employee pipette production)

Abdul – Skilled worker for equipment assembly laboratory & analytical technology

Abdul is from Afghanistan and had to flee to Germany with his family because of the war. In search of a new perspective, he came to IKA and initially completed a six-week internship. During this time, he worked in various departments, learned about different activities, and got to appreciate IKA as an employer. He brought in a lot of curiosity and skill, so that he quickly became an integral part of our team. Our ambition is that not only our products, but also our employees, get the chance to develop at the highest level. Therefore, we are very pleased that we were able to offer Abdul a traineeship as an industrial mechanic in September 2017, which he successfully completed in 2021. The three-week internship abroad, which IKA makes possible for all trainees, was a highlight during this time. Abdul went to the USA. But that's not the only thing Abdul likes to talk about. His colleagues at IKA became a second family to him, with whom he not only spends the working day, but also celebrates parties together. In the meantime, the Afghan-born Abdul is working permanently in the laboratory and analytical technology production area as a skilled worker in equipment assembly.

Hermès – Temporary assistant for equipment assembly laboratory and analytical technology

Hermès decided to move from Uganda to Germany in the summer of 2021 to study. At IKA, he found a job as a production assistant for the time until he could start his studies. In the process, he learned many important skills for his future career, from time management to self-organization. With his friendly nature, he quickly won the hearts of his team and entertained everyone with his observations about the things that make IKA special. One of his favorite stories is the delivery of the organic eggs or apple juice from the owner family's farm. These are available to employees free of charge and are just one of the examples of IKA's special corporate culture. In the meantime, Hermès has started his studies in International Business, even though saying goodbye to his colleagues was not an easy task, because they have become like a second family to him during his time at IKA.

Part 2 (Hermès – Temporary assistant for equipment assembly laboratory and analytical technology)

I really enjoyed my internship because it taught me something new. I worked in HR, where I learned about IKA's people and culture. Afterwards, I was part of the marketing department and of the application center.

Nutnicha

Intern

Working in the Application Center helped me a lot to assess what to expect in the future and what I personally want to do. Among other things, I got answers to the questions

”What do I want to do after my master’s degree?” and ”How do I want to be seen as an employee?"

Lara

Intern

With over 900 employees worldwide, you might think that you are just another fish in the pond. But that is not the case at all. You can feel that acceptance, respect and especially tolerance are important values at IKA.
